Graduate Student Instructor Appointments
All students are required to teach two semesters. Teaching usually occurs during Fall semester of the second year, and Spring semester of the third year of study.
Neuroscience students teach in numerous campus departments, including Integrative Biology, Molecular and Cell Biology, and Psychology.
Specific information is sent to students in Spring. For further information, see MCB GSI Applications, Integrative Biology Teaching, contact the Graduate Student Service Office in the Department of Psychology, Bioengineering, and Vision Science.
**Students who receive financial support through NIH training grants or NSF fellowships can be appointed to an average of 25% for the year (or they can work 50% for one semester, but not work at all the second semester) in order to maintain their fellowship/traineeship status.
