Second Year Students
- Course Requirements. All students are expected to take the Qualifying Exam in the Spring semester of their second year. To do so, students must ensure all three required courses are completed by the end of Fall semester, second year. See the Coursework Requirements policy for more information.
- Teaching (GSI) Appointments. During the Fall semester, students are expected to fulfill the first semester of their teaching assignments. Students must take the Graduate Division Online Course and attend the Graduate Division Orientation session, as well as participate in the GSI training of the department and enroll in a 300 level pedagogy course. Please check GSI Teaching Resource Center and Graduate Council Policy for GSIs and Instructors.
