How nanosensors ‘listen in’ on the brain’s chemical conversations

Jaquesta Adams, a Chemistry PhD candidate in Neuroscience faculty member Markita Landry’s lab, is a UC Berkeley semi-finalist in the UC Grad Slam, where graduate students compete to clearly communicate their thesis research in three minutes or less.

 Adams is working on the development of near-infrared fluorescent nanosensors. Her research aims to improve understanding of and therapeutic outcomes for neurological disorders and neurodegenerative diseases. Watch the video to see her explain her research in under three minutes!
