Neuroscience faculty members Jack Gallant, Frédéric Theunissen, and Linda Wilbrecht have been elected 2025 Fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). This lifetime honor is bestowed on AAAS members whose efforts on behalf of the advancement of science or its applications in service to society have distinguished them among their peers and colleagues.

Jack Gallant, professor of neuroscience, was recognized “for distinguished contributions to the field of systems and cognitive neuroscience, particularly revealing the neural representations underlying vision and language.”
Frédéric Theunissen, professor of neuroscience, was recognized “for contributions in understanding the neural basis of auditory processing.”
Linda Wilbrecht, professor of neuroscience and psychology, was recognized “for distinguished contributions to the neurobiology of learning and adolescent development, including basic insights into basal ganglia function and identification of changes regulated by puberty.”
