Summer Advising

The office is open for in-person advising on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in summer. Advisors are available remotely every weekday.
Monday - Thursday: 9am-12pm & 1pm-4pm
Friday: 9am-12pm & 1pm-3pm

Appointments

Short-Notice Appointments

20-minute appointments. Open 48 hours in advance and must be scheduled at least 30 minutes in advance. Example: a 3 pm appointment will open at 3 pm the 2 days before. Check daily and throughout the day for new openings. Also check Pre-Scheduled Appointments (links below).

Types of Appointments available: Information on the NEU major, Declaring/Changing Major, Scheduling/Course Planning, Advising Holds, Graduation Checks, and other quick questions.

Pre-Scheduled Appointments

Appointments are 20-40 minutes and are open 2 weeks in advance. Must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance.

Types of Appointments available: Information on the NEU major, Declaring/Changing Major, Scheduling/Course Planning, Advising Holds, Graduation Check, Research (Info or units), Honors, Study Abroad, Academic Difficulty, Readmission/Withdrawal, and any other questions you have!

Drop-In Advising (for quick questions limited to 5-10 minutes):

Last Drop-In session for Spring 2026 is May 15. There is no drop-in during the summer.

Drop-In advising takes place on most Fridays* during the Fall and Spring semesters from 1:10-3pm on Zoom and in person at 3060 VLSB. Check-in via our Google Form to get in line for drop-in advising: https://forms.gle/skvWSPWtMnumdpXF8. Please note that the form is only available on Fridays from 1-3pm.

*No drop-in advising during the summer. Drop-in will resume in the Fall.

Faculty Advisors

Faculty advisors are Neuroscience professors assigned to advise students about the department, its courses, research, career and other academic issues. Faculty advisors' office hours are posted on this shared sheet - you must be logged into your UC Berkeley account to access it. Please do not contact multiple faculty with the same request. Faculty advisor office hours are effective from the first day of instruction until the final day of instruction for the fall and spring semesters. Faculty advisors are not available for office hours during winter or summer break. Staff advisors are available year-round.
