Michael Yartsev, associate professor of neuroscience and bioengineering, is the winner of the 2025 Richard Lounsbery Award from the National Academy of Sciences. The $75,000 prize is awarded to young scientists for extraordinary scientific achievements in biology and medicine. Yartsev received the award for his pivotal contributions to advance understanding of the neural basis of natural behaviors through his research on freely flying and behaving bats.
