She focuses on the mammalian visual system to understand brain development. Her work also explores links between the nervous and immune systems, with implications for conditions like autism and schizophrenia.

Erich Jarvis, Ph.D

Dr. Jarvis is a professor at Rockefeller University. He investigates how the brain enables vocal learning, using songbirds and other animals to understand how humans learn to speak. He studies the genetic and molecular basis of this ability and his work explores how vocal communication evolved in both humans and other species.
