Richard Ivry receives Andrew Carnegie Prize in Mind and Brain Sciences

Neuroscience faculty member Richard Ivry, distinguished professor of psychology and neuroscience, has been awarded the 2024 Andrew Carnegie Prize in Mind and Brain Sciences by Carnegie Mellon University. Ivry received the award for his pioneering research exploring the cognitive neuroscience of action and skilled movements in both healthy and neurologically impaired individuals, with a focus on the role of the cerebellum. As part of the award, Ivry was presented with an original piece of artwork from UC Berkeley alum Greg Dunn.
